Submit

Our rules are simple.

1. Everything you send us must be true. We love fiction, it’s just not what we publish. 
2. Everything you send must be 150 words maximum. Anything less is great. Give us your 6-word stories, 140-character Tweets, and everything in between. If you’re interested in sending us a multi-part series, that’s acceptable, but let us know ahead of time. All we ask is that each piece can be read independently. 
3. Everything you send us must be about or related to travel. We don’t believe “travel” is a fixed concept, and hope you don’t either. We’re just as happy hearing about the kayak you sank in the Caribbean as the home bathroom you felt like a stranger in freshman fall. 

Above all, we’re looking for work that’s genuine. Send us the stories you tell your friends at 2 AM. Your fuck-ups. Your best decisions. Your worst decisions. Your future lore. 

We want to express the highs and lows of travel, and everything that includes, or doesn’t. 

Send all submissions to theroadpenntraveled@gmail.com with the SUBJECT LINE: “Submission”. Send in the body of the email or in a Word doc, if you prefer; no PDFs. 

In your submission, please highlight the place, month, and year of your story. Please also send us a name to publish under if you’d like it to be different from your own.
